Bioenergy Roadmap an opportunity to influence the framework for growth.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) is developing a roadmap to identify the role that the bioenergy sector can play in Australia’s energy transition and in the further reduction of Australia’s emissions. Helmont Energy is excited about our opportunity to be part of the bioenergy sector as it influences government policy.

ARENA has called for submissions to be used in consideration in the development of the Bioenergy Roadmap, and Helmont Energy is pleased to be able to contribute. We look forward to being part of the development process for the Bioenergy Roadmap, and for our contribution to assist the government in maximising the opportunity that bioenergy offers to the Australian economy.

Our submission will focus on:

• Potential feedstocks for bioenergy production,

• Domestic market opportunities for bioenergy including: gas industry, transport sector and stationary energy industry,

• Technology that can deliver bioenergy into the domestic and international markets,

• Investment attributes to attract capital, and

• Policy and regulatory change, particularly around offsetting fugitive emissions.
